CSIR NET-(LIFE SCIENCES & CHEMICAL SCIENCES)
The CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) organize CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test two times in a year on behalf of UGC. It determines the eligibility for the JRF Net or the Junior Research Fellowship of the Indian National Candidates and also for determining the eligibility for NET or the National Eligibility Test for the appointment of lectureship. The test will be conducted in certain subject areas which fall under the faculty of Science and Technology (like Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, Atmosphere Sciences, Ocean Sciences, Planetary Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences)
The candidate must hold BS-4 year’s program/B.Tech/BE/B Pharma/MBBS/MSc/Integrated BS-MS or any other equivalent degree with the minimum percentage of 55% for the general candidates and the OBC/SC/ST/Physically or visually handicapped get the relaxations of 5%(50%)
- Candidate enrolled for MSC and has completed 10+2+3 years of the mentioned qualifying examination can also apply for the test. They can apply in the subjects under the Results Awaited Category. The candidate is supposed to complete the qualifying degree with the minimum percentage of marks within the period of 2 years in order to avail the fellowship from the effective date of reward.
- Candidates are required to submit the attestation format which is at the reverse side of the application form. The format requires to be duly certified by the Head of the institute from which the candidate is appearing or has passed already.
- Students with BSc or those with equivalent degree in the integrated MS-PhD program with the percentage of at least 55% marks. The percentage for OBC is 50%. Those who are visually or physically handicapped can also apply.
- Candidates having the bachelor’s in Engineering, Science and in other discipline will be eligible to get fellowship after getting registered or enrolled for PhD or PhD integrated program.

Examination schedule: CSIR-UGC-NET is held generally in the 3rd week of December
Course duration: The classes will be held during weekend for 6 months.

Class schedule: This program will have classes during the weekend on Saturday & Sunday for 4 hours each day. Classes can be held during morning or evening at the institute’s discretion.
